For the fourth time in 20 years, Baillie Gifford Overseas Limited has received the Queen’s Award for Enterprise for its success in retaining and acquiring international clients.

Baillie Gifford Overseas now manages money for clients in Australia, Asia, the Middle East and Continental Europe, as well as North America. At 30 June 2010, assets from international clients comprised approximately 57% of Baillie Gifford’s £58 billion (US$87 billion) total assets under management and advice.

Commenting on the achievement, Nigel Morecroft, a director of Baillie Gifford Overseas, said, “Winning the Queen’s Award for Enterprise for a fourth time is testament to the very high standards set by the firm and achieved by colleagues.

“It also reflects the continuing confidence of our clients in us through a very turbulent period in markets, particularly 2008. We believe that our success in attracting clients results from our serious, long-term approach to investment, excellent client service and our commitment to putting our clients’ interests first.

“We should like to thank our staff for their contribution and our clients for their continuing confidence in us.”

The award will be presented at a reception in Buckingham Palace.
